Lindsey is one of our newer veterinary technicians.  She joined our Foothill Pet Hospital (FPH) staff in February 2010.  Lindsey attends UC Santa Barbara (UCSB) and is majoring in Zoology and Spanish.

Lindsey is very excited to have joined our staff, and plans to learn and experience as much as she can while at FPH.  Her ultimate goal is getting into veterinary school and becoming a practicing veterinarian.

As with all our staff, Lindsey’s job entails various and multifold functions.  She gets exposure to front-end (reception and phone) tasks, as well as primary patient care in the back-end tasks of FPH.  These roles encompass such functions as assisting Dr. Rittenberg (Dr. Ritt) with examinations and procedures, assisting the other technicians with treatments and procedures, taking x-rays, assisting with anesthesia and surgery, performing patient treatments, running in-hospital lab tests, assisting clients, maintaining hospital cleanliness, and especially providing for patient comfort and care.

Lindsey is very interested in learning all aspects of veterinary medicine.  Even though she is part-time during the school year, Lindsey manages to get to see or do something new every shift.  With her engaging, attentive, and inquisitive personality, Lindsey is a big hit with all the patients (and other staff too).  We love her upbeat personality and enthusiasm for learning.

Lindsey is not allowed to have pets in her house while attending UCSB.  So, she gets her “pet fix” while at FPH, or when she gets to go home to visit her short-haired, playful, gray and white cat named Kimo.

Lindsey has many extracurricular interests and hobbies to keep busy. 

Scholastically, she studied for one quarter in Madrid, Spain, and is currently the President of the Order of Omega (a Greek honors organization at UCSB).  Also, she has volunteered at D.A.W.G. (Dog Adoption and Welfare Group) to gain more animal experiences.
